April Counterfeit Kit

The kit that we are counterfeiting for April is FUN!
It is the March 2013 kit from Gossamer Blue:

Since I didn't have any of the actual elements from the inspiration kit, I went with a different approach than I usually take.  I wrote down a couple of words that came to mind when I looked at the original kit: watercolor, brights, eclectic, hearts, stripes, polka dots.  Then I went through my stash and saw my Amy Tangerine Sketchbook paper pad.  Absolutely perfect!  So I chose the watercolor hearts, scribbles, and polka dots from that collection, and added a Sassafras squiggle and an Echo Park chevron.  Also, Glitz's Color Me Happy collection (from the inspiration kit) included a chalkboard-style paper, so I added a sheet of chalkstock to my kit.

For embellies, I chose a new "Snail Mail" stamp (it reminded me of the chalkboard fonts that are so popular right now) and some others from my stash.  The flower stamp is SUPER old, but reminded me of the watercolor theme.  I included puffy hearts in place of the enamel dots, some older Colorbok chipboard circles, veneer butterflies, a few die-cuts, buttons, cabachons, ribbon and washi.  Oh, and those adorable, glittery sentiment stickers from KI Memories!  I think they go perfectly with the overall feel of my kit.

I also plan on counterfeiting the cute little circle tags from Elle's Studio,
but I haven't gotten to that yet. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I have already made 3 cards with my kit-will be blogging them soon!  Have a great weekend!

What a great way to take away inspiration from the original kit. I might have to give that a try.

Love the scripty titles. I like your approach of writing down words you think of when studying the inspiration.
