Stop Pinning? I think not...

I have been pinning cute little quotes (OK-some of them are downright sassy) on Pinterest.  I love funny and sarcastic cards, so I thought that some of these quotes would make fun card sentiments.  Like the one on this card:

"I'm getting tired of pinning things
on Pinterest.  Maybe I'll stop,"
said no one ever.

Heehee! Loved this one!  I typed the sentiment in Word, printed it on cardstock, and paired it with this sassy lady stamp from Unity's March 2011 Kit of the Month.  She looks like a pinner, don't you think? :)

I also used (and flipped) the sketch from the June KOM Sketch challenge:

Thanks for popping by today!  Hope I made you smile! :)

Sending Koala Love

I had fun yesterday playing with my newest Lawn Fawn stamp sets.  I think my new favorite is Critters Down Under.  The little koala in the set is just the cutest!  I thought he would be perfect for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge, Color Splash:

Here is my card-with a splash of peachy pink:

Color splash challenges are THE hardest for me because I love lots of colors and patterns.  I do love this little guy, however.  I acgtually used him as a little experiment, too.  I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers instead of Copics.  There is an awesome deal on them this week at A.C. Moore ($7.88 for a set of 6), so I picked up the set of Warm Greys to try.  Definitely not the same quality as Copics, so I will definitely not be switching over.  However, with this sale, they are an inexpensive way to add to my colors as I build my Copic collection.

Oh, and to finish off my little koala, I added a super cute black nose with Ranger's Enamel Accents.  It makes is look like a real little nose!  Definitely going to try that again!

Thanks for popping by today!

Sending My Love

First off, I can't say "thank you" enough to all of my sweet friends in the blogging world who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday.  You all are the best!  You really know how to make a girl feel special. :)

I had a bit of time yesterday afternoon to play in my scraproom (best. birthday. gift. ever.)  I decided to play along with 2 different {ippity} challenges going on right now.  The first is the BRIGHTS CHALLENGE on the {ippity} blog.  This striped paper from Sassafras Lass is super bright and funky!  The second is this week's sketch challenge at Chick Challenges {with ippity}.  Here is my card:

I absolutely loved the idea of adding an envelope to the front of your card, as the sketch shows.  I cut this little envelope using my Cricut Wild Card cartridge.  Although I adhered it shut, you could also make it a functional envie for a little note or gift card.  I moved the bow from the sketch over onto my card flap, and moved the sentiment lower on the envie.  The sentiment is from {ippity}'s How YOU Doin' stamp set, on of my favorites sets for cute little sentiments.

I am also sharing a project today over at I Heart {ippity}-hop on over and check it out!

Fun with BasicGrey Challenges!

I am so excited to be Guest Designing for BasicGrey Challenges for the next few weeks!  Today's challenge is to use your favorite color combo to create a project.  I usually choose the colors for my project based on the patterned paper, so I went to my new favorite BG paper collection, What's Up?  The colors in this collection are so pretty-I love purple, so the papers with purple are my favorites. My color combo was lavendar and aqua.  I created both a feminine and a masculine card using these colors and fun papers from the What's Up? collection.

For my "Thank You" card, I used THIS stamp set from Basic Grey/Hero Arts.  The little flowers are stamped on a few different distressed solids from several different BG collections (Plumeria, What's Up?, Porcelain, and Olivia.)

I just love THIS fun stamp set from The Craft's Meow!  Cute mustache images and snazzy sentiments, too!

I stamped the mustache twice on a figgy brown cardstock .  The first layer is adhered flat on my tag.  The second mustache is folded in half and only adhered along the fold so the edges pop up.  You can see the detail a bit better here:

The DT over at BasicGrey Challenges has some beautiful projects to share using their favorite color combos, too!  Check it out, leave some love, and play along to win!

CAS Thinking of You

My card today is a quickie, made from scraps that were on my desk. :)

The background paper made the perfect frame for this label die-cut, but the sentiment that I had originally stamped on the die-cut bled a bit.  What to do?  Cover it up, of course!  I had already stamped these little flowers out of coordinating papers for another project, so I used some leftovers to cover up the icky sentiment.  I created a little tag to house a tiny sentiment, then tied it through the center of one of the flowers.  The fun border on the bottom is just a border sticker.  Super quick!
I am actually entering this in 2 different challenges: BasicGrey Challenge (CAS) and Hero Arts' Thinking of You.

Please stop by tomorrow, as I am Guest Designing for BasicGrey Challenges for the next few weeks!  I have two fun projects to share with you tomorrow, using some of my favorite new Basic Grey products!  Play along with me and you could win a fabby gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!

Life is Simple.

Today is the first Monday of my summer vacation.  I am looking forward to a relaxing, but fun-filled, summer.  Is that possible?  My perfect summer day would start with NO alarm clock, coffee on the deck, and NO schedule!  Sounds simple, doesn't it?  I'll let ya know when that perfect day arrives, lol!
Until then, how about a little card share to remind you that the simple days of summer are on their way?  Here is the project that I am sharing today at I Heart {ippity}:

I paired {ippity}'s Flowers + Friends=Priceless (check it out-on sale for $12!) with some embossed die cuts to create a simple focal point.  I also used this week's sketch from Chick Challenges {with ippity}.  The pitcher was cut with my Cricut, using the Kate's ABC's cartridge.  I then used a Sizzix embossing folder to add some texture.  I love that it looks like old-fashioned pottery!  The sentiment is from {ippity}'s Simply Home.  Just click on the link, choose my friend Heather Flaherty as your {ippity} chick, then shop for some new rubbah! :)

Looking to win some new {ippity} to use this summer?  Just create ANY kind of project using {ippity} stamps and link up to this week's Linky Party!

Thanks for popping by today.  I am on my way to a JOB INTERVIEW and then to some much needed SCRAPPY TIME WITH LESA!  Life may not be simple right now, but it is GOOD! :)

June Counterfeit Kit

If you are looking for the next stop in the I Heart {ippity} blog hop, you are in the right place!

Click HERE for my Day One post...
and click HERE for Day Two!

I have put together my June kit for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, and I can't wait to share it with you!  It was a fun kit to put together-a very different process than most months because we were building our own kit from scratch!  Bethany and Meridy decided to challenge us to create our own kit from a list of supplies:

10 sheets patterned paper
8 sheets cardstock
2 alphabet sets
2 stamp sets
4 journaling spots
3 types of "choose your own" style embellishments (flowers, border strips, ribbon, anything you like)
1 roll washi tape
1 "old" embellishment
1 messy item (paint, embossing, mists, etc)
1 other item of your choice

I started right at the top of the list, pulling patterned paper from my new MME Stella & Rose pad, then I realized that that approach would not help me bust my older stash.  So, I limited myself to just 2 new papers and pulled the other 8 from my stash:

Next, I pulled my cardstock.  Again, I tried to use up some older papers from my stash.  Most of these are ancient double-sided papers from SEI.  The yellow debossed paper in the top left is from a Momenta paper pad.  (Excuse the black beagle hair on the green cardstock!  I had "help" putting my kit together, lol!)

Now for the fun part!

2 alphas: one package of coppery brown glitter Thickers and one tiny alpha
4 journaling spots: 2 from a Smash pad, one Sass and one from K&Co.
2 new stamp sets: Basic Grey's PB&J from Hero Arts and a cute little owl set from The Craft's Meow
My 3 embellies: green buttons, green baker's twine, and a sheet of Basic Grey element stickers
My "old" embellie: a package of heart-shaped metal tag rims from Making Memories  (I have the tag maker and have never used it!)
Blue Studio G washi tape
My "messy" item: loose glitter!  My room will sparkle for months! :)
My "surprise" item: a package of Memory Glass from Ranger.  Not quite sure if I will make a pendant, a magnet, or something else.  Again, it's been in my stash and I've never tried it.  This is the month! :)
thanks for checking out my kit this month!  I'm SO very excited to use it!  We'd love to have you play along with us this month.  Check out the post HERE on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog!

I Heart {ippity} Blog Hop-Day 2

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that it is the weekend!  It has been a very long, very stressful week at school-assessments, meetings, report cards-my brain is fried! LOL  What better way to start a fun, crafty weekend than with some fabulous {ippity} projects in today's I Heart {ippity} Blog Hop?
First off, if you are not familiar with {ippity} then you are missing out! {ippity} is a line of rubber stamps manufactured by the Unity Stamp Co. The {ippity} line is separate from the Unity line but has the same wonderful quality, it is marketed though Unity Endorsed {ippity} Chicks, reps for {ippity}.     Although I am no longer selling {ippity} myself, I *happen* to have a fabulous friend who does!  Heather Flaherty is my {ippity} CHICK and would love to be yours! To order {ippity} just go to the Unity Website and on the left hand side click {ippity} - Pick a CHICK & Order. That will take you to the {ippity} chick page where you can pick Heather as your {ippity} Chick

My project today used my all-time favorite technique, paper-piecing.  It is SO easy and packs a punch when you use a mix of patterned papers.  I used a fun mix from Simple Stories.  The stamps are a super-cute new Itty Bitty set from {ippity} called Java Friend.

To make this blog hop even more fun, Heather is giving away a prize to one person who comments on all of the DT blogs! So get commenting! LOL

I Heart {ippity} Blog Hop

Happy Friday, everyone!

Welcome to the I Heart {ippity} Design Team Blog Hop!  I am SO excited to be part of Heather's {ippity} team.  I love sharing fun projects with you!

First off, if you are not familiar with {ippity} then you are missing out! {ippity} is a line of rubber stamps manufactured by the Unity Stamp Co. My project today allowed me to play with some of my Copics.  I just got Copic certified, so I want to color all the time! LOL  One of the techniques we learned was a stonewash technique, but I also thought it looked like colors that get faded in the summer.  I tried this technique on this butterfly from {ippity}'s Devoted stamp set.  I also added a touch of Spica Clear glitter to the butterfly wings.  The sentiment is from Music of my Heart.  Although it doesn't show well in the photo, I also pierced a line under the sentiment to "ground" it.
To make this blog hop even more fun, Heather is giving away a prize to one person who comments on all of the DT blogs! So get commenting! LOL
