More paper piecing. I love it. It's my favorite technique. :)
Cute little cupcakes and a sentiment from Unity ("Mix-up of Cuteness" and patterned paper from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey collection. Love those fun colors and patterns! I also love that this card could go for a boy or a girl.
I also want to share a little trick with you. I originally stamped the sentiment directly onto the white cardstock mat, but the ink had a little bubble and it just wasn't a clear image. Since I had already stamped and pieced the cupcakes, I didn't want to start over completely. So, I stamped the sentiment again onto the green strip, notched the end, and adhered it over the original sentiment. I love the end result more than the original!

This card just makes me giggle. It's silly and fun, and it's just the thing that I needed to make today. Isn't it cute?

I spritzed a piece of kraft cardstock with Mister Huey in Orchard, then stamped and paper-pieced the popsicle from Unity. The sentiment is also from the "Mix-Up of Cuteness" set. Papers are from Sassafras Lass' "Sunshine Lollipops" collection.

Garden Gnome Santa Set

I know it's early, but I am starting on Christmas cards for next year. Not because I am super-organized, but because I have tons of Christmas papers, I didn't have time to make as many cards this year, and because I found a new challenge site. :)

I am entering this set in the Christmas Cards All Year 'Round challenge for December. For this challenge, you need to make 5 Christmas cards using a Santa image or the word Santa. I chose this adorable little gnome Santa from Imaginisce.

A Love Beyond Measure

One more quick share this morning before I head upstairs to clean the scraproom. (Ugh!)

This is my entry for this week's CPS challenge. Lots of choices this week, as the challenge was to pick any sketch from 2010 and create a new card. I chose Sketch #180. I used a mix of Unity and {ippity} stamps for this card, and did some coloring and masking (I masked the sentiment before stamping the heart.)

You're the Best

I just got this cute little stamp set by Hero Arts-isn't she just so adorable? I just couldn't resist her. My dilemma: I don't own any Copics (yet!) so I was a little unsure about how to color her. The peachy markers that I have are a little too bright, and they don't blend very well.

I came up with a way to prolong buying Copics for a little while longer, plus use up a product that I really don't use anymore: vellum. I got this idea from the latest issue of CK. I stamped the little girl using black StazOn ink. Then, I flipped the vellum over and colored the back side of the image with my Sharpies and Bic Mark-Its. When I flipped the image right-side-up, it had a much softer tone and the colors appeared to be blended.

I was quite happy with the results, and decided to enter this mini card in this week's CPS Challenge. I had fun playing with this technique and tried it with this and several other stamps which i will share later this week. Happy Monday, everyone!

Bright Pumpkins

One more Thanksgiving card to share today. This one uses bright colors, plus it pairs orange and coral-who would've thought that combination would look good? But the coral matches the stripe in the patterned paper and looks great in real life.

This card is based on CPS Sketch #143. This is a pretty literal interpretation of the sketch, but I dressed it up a little by folding the green paper over the pumpkin image to give it some dimension. The ribbon, button and twine really spice it up.

These pumpkins are from Studio G, and the "Heartfelt Thanks" sentiment is from Hero Arts. All papers are by My Mind's Eye.

Another Card with CPS Sketch #141

Here is another card that I made using the same sketch and stamp sets as the Autumn Thank You card. The papers are also from My Mind's Eye. The result was totally different, though, by using different colors and ribbon instead of jute.

I actually sent this card out yesterday as a sympathy card to my cousin's husband and daughter. My cousin passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. Her husband, Jim, and daughter, Dorothy, live in El Paso, Texas. We're keeping them in our thoughts.

An Autumn Thank You

I have had this little leaf stamp for a few weeks now, but just recently had the chance to use it. It is from a fall Studio G set ($1) and I can say that it was a buck well spent. I made a few different cards using it, and here is the first.

This card is based on CPS Sketch # 141. I just love this polka-dot paper from My Mind's Eye. The colors and pattern have a fresh feel and are very versatile. I stamped the little leaf on a distressed white patterned paper, colored them with colored pencils and then stickled them with a coordinating color. The "Thanks" stamp is from Technique Tuesday. I added jute instead of ribbon to keep with the nature theme, and also because this card is going to my brother-in-law who just fixed my laptop for me. Happy Everything Spinner Card

Whenever I work with sketches, I always rotate them and reverse them in my head before I actually start my project. That's the beauty of using sketches-you can "tweak" them however you'd like!
For this sketch from Card Positioning Systems, I rotated the sketch 180 degrees. I immediately thought the sketch looked like a spinner card, so I pulled out my buzzing bee stamp and funky flowers from Gel-a-Tins.
Quite happy with the fun little card that resulted!

Stamping on Patterned Paper-CPS Sketch #122

Here is another card entry that I am submitting this week, this time for CPS Sketch Challenge #122. The sketch gave plenty of room for embellishment, so the possibilities were endless. I love paper piecing with stamped images, and this card uses that technique. These Japanese Dolls from Hero Arts are one of my favorite stamp sets, too-perfect for paper piecing.
