Sending Sunshine

One last share before I head back up to my craft room-er, I mean to do some laundry and vacuuming (insert *snicker* here!)  Oh, my poor, neglected house.  But, hey-I got in some crafty time during this vacation!

Here's my COLORFUL entry for The Craft's Meow December Sketch Challenge:

Love my little owls!  This one was designed by my friend, Jenny Suchin.  Cuteness, I tell you!
Here is the sketch-I stayed pretty true to it:

Thanks for stopping by today!  Time to get my laundry caught up! ;)

Well, it does...

This next share is VERY cheeky-but I hope it makes you giggle!
I used my fiesty gal stamp from Unity's March 2011 KOM.  Love this stamp!  It goes perfectly with this sassy sentiment from {ippity}.

This pretty new paper is from Basic Grey's "Fiction" paper pad, and the Best/Worst journaling card is from a Smash pad.  Chipboard flowers from Sassafras Lass.

This is my entry for the December KOM Sketch challenge over on the Unity blog.  Here is the sketch:

Check it out!

Warm Wishes

I was inspired by the FRIGID temperatures today to create this little CAS card.  It's a great day to stay inside, do some stamping, and have a hot cuppa. :)

I love this cute little mug from Paper Smooches' "Hot Concoctions" stamp set.  I also love this new snowflake embossing folder that I just picked up from Darice.  What a bargain-only $2.99 at A.C. Moore!  I can see myself using this on lots of winter cards.

I am also entering this card in the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Anything Goes.  Just click on the image below to go right to the current challenge!  Thanks for visiting my blog!

I Love You...Like a Love Song, Baby

Oh, how I have missed scrapping and blogging!  I've made a few projects over my little Christmas break.  Some of them I can share now-others I can't share until later. :)

My first card today is a CAS card that I made for the recent Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  I missed the deadline to post, however, and was a bit grumpy about that. :(  This morning, though, I saw that the latest Sparks Challenge was "Anything Goes."  Woo-hoo!  Now I can still enter this card!

This super-cute jukebox is from the "Perpetual Bliss" stamp set.  I paper-pieced it using some new papers from Basic Grey's "Fiction" paper pad.  It's hard to see the embossed sentiment on the left of the card in this photo, so here's a detail photo:

See the "love you" sentiment?  The top two are more subtle, but the bottom "love You" is a deeper emboss.

This is one of my entries for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: Anything Goes.  Just click on the image below to go right to this challenge!

Thanks for popping by-come back later-I have more projects to share! :)

Tree Trio

Yup-more Christmas cards!  It's my day off from school and I am celebrating by wearing my pajamas and getting inky! LOL

Here's what I'm sharing over on the I Heart {ippity} blog today:

I created one basic card design (on the right), then "stepped it up" by using slightly different stamping techniques on the other two cards.  I also caved and cut into a piece of embossed cardstock that I have had since 2007!  I LOVED this Love, Elsie paper so much that I have been saving it, LOL!  But I caved today because it matched my olive chalk ink so beautifully, and the embossed trees looked fabby with my {ippity} tree stamps. :)

Thanks for popping by today!  I am working on the World Cardmaking Day challenges posted over on the Unity blog-hopefully I will have more shares later!

Naughty or Nice?

I know that there are still a couple of months until Christmas, but crafters tend to think about holidays well in advance. If you're like me and stamp all of your holiday cards, chances are it takes you several months just to build up your stash!
Today I'm sharing a Christmas card that I created for the I Heart {ippity} blog.  It comes with a built-in gift card holder on the front:
I used the adorable new holiday set from {ippity} called "Naughty. Nice. Not Sure." Seriously, how CUTE is this little Santa? I colored Santa with Copics, and paper-pieced the list with some vintage text paper from My Mind's Eye. A punched border along the top of the kraft bag adds a fun touch and lets the gift card peek out.
This design would also work great for lottery scratch tickets! The guys (and kids!) in our family LOVE scratch tickets in their stockings-what a fun way to dress them up, holiday-style!
Thanks for stopping by today!

For my project, I started with one of my latest "Goodwill treasures".  Here is what it looked like when I bought it at Goodwill for $3.59 (blah, ick!):

And here it is now!  I removed the wooden snowflake, flipped the heart over, moved the can, and took off the icky lace and fabric.  Fresh, summer colors make it nice and cheery!

{ippity} stamp sets used: Life's Little Moments, Now & Always, and Fall for You.

And because all great blog hops need a prize, Heather is giving away a fabby prize to one person who comments on all of the DT blogs!  What are you waiting for?  Get commenting! LOL  Please also enter your info in the Rafflecopter link below so we can contact you!

8 Cards from my July Counterfeit Card Kit!

My month of Guest Designing for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge will soon come to an end, but that doesn't mean that I don't have a ton of projects to share with you!  First let me share that today's projects were not made with my July main kit-instead, I created a smaller Counterfeit Card Kit.  You can absolutely do this every month, too, if you are a cardmaker!
This month, our inspiration kit was the Summer Boardwalk Kit from Citrus Twist.  Instead of copying the kit exactly, as I did with my main kit, I made a very generic list of kit contents.  My list included things like: "chevron patterned paper", "masculine print paper", and "textured embellies."  Definitely generic, but with plenty of room for interpretation!  This is a totally legit way to play along when your stash doesn't seem to work with the inspiration kit, or when the inspiration kit just isn't your style.  I also wanted to include some sketches, so I printed some that I had already pinned on Pinterest.  Here are pics of my kit contents:

Patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket, Pebbles, Colorbok, Echo Park, Imaginisce, and TPC (a 6x6 piece of each to make me feel like I had a new 6x6 bundle to work with!)...

tiny alpha stickers, chipboard letters, felt embellies, paper flower, ribbon, buttons, twine, and a vintage pattern print in place of the vintage book page...

and uber-cute Lawn Fawn.  :)  I substituted the border stamps for the washi tape in the inspiration kit.

Now for my my sketches and cards.  I made 2 cards from each sketch, for a total of 8 cards from my little kit!  Click on the sketches to be taken right to their websites.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and check out all of my cards today!  I hope that you will be inspired to create your own kit-please be sure to share your projects by linking up to the July Mr. Linky on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog!

How about another quick share?  This card was also one that wasn't picked up by Paper Crafts magazine.  Do I love it any less?  Nah-I think the sentiment rocks!

Oops...here's a late peek for you!

"Delightful" Gift Bag

I realized today that I haven't shared a few of my recent creations with my blog readers-I have several projects that weren't picked up for the last Paper Crafts magazine call to share over the next few days.  Today's project is a gift bag that I made for the call to use sentiment stamps in a creative way.  I used the "Delightful" clear stamp from Simon Says Stamp to create a lightbulb shape.  The wires inside the lightbulb are a combination of heart stamps and hand-drawn lines.

Papers are from Sassafras Lass and Smash tape is from K&Co.  Here is a close-up of the tag:

Thanks for stopping by today!  Now back to cleaning my scraproom! :)

Operation Write Home

I am Guest Designing for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month, and I loved that our first challenge for July was a cardmaking challenge. :)
The challenge: use your July Counterfeit Kit to create cards for Operation Write Home.
I created 3 cards already, but I think I will add more as the month goes on.  I find that I make many more cards than I actually mail, and this is such a great cause.  Hope those that serve will enjoy sending my cards to their loved ones back home. :)

Here are shots of the individual cards:

Thanks so much for stopping by today-I would love it if you left me a comment!
We would love to have you join us for this challenge!  Let's see how many cards we can make for OWH-post your number in a comment on THIS post!

Scrapbook Steals July Blog Hop

More hopping fun for you today!  You should be arriving here from Julie's blog.  If not, you will want to start right at the beginning of the hop, on the Scrapbook Steals blog, so that you won't miss out on any of the fabulous projects or your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to scrapbooksteals.com
I was so flattered when Kristy Lee from Scrapbook Steals emailed me and asked if I would be a guest for the July blog hop.  Umm, let me think about that for about 2 seconds... :) Then I panicked a bit when I received the product that we are featuring on today's hop: Fancy Pants Design Ribbon Bundles

My three trims were brown, brown, and brown!  Quite the challenge for a color-lovin' girl like me!  I soon found that these trims were so fun and versatile-check out my projects for some fun ways to use this package of embroidered muslin trim, rickrack, and seam binding!
My favorite project is this altered embroidery hoop, which uses all three of these trims.  Can you find them all?  The rickrack and embroidered muslin are stitched to the background, and I crinkled the seam binding to tie around the top:

Here are close-ups of the banner and tag:

Won't you agree that "Handmade is Better?" :)

I used up my scraps to make 2 little cards.  "Cherry-O" uses the embroidered muslin made into a little rosette and embellished with a button.  "UR Just My Type" uses the last bit of seam binding.  I left some of it crinkled to use as a bow. It reminded me of the old typewriter ribbons!  I also used my ribbon iron to iron the tiny piece that I had leftover and adhered it flat with my banners.  Do you see it peeking out on the left?

I hope that you have enjoyed today's projects.  I had so much fun making them!  You can "steal" your own Fancy Pants Ribbon Bundles HERE at Scrapbook Steals!
Your next stop on the hop is Corrina ColquhounHappy hopping, and don't forget to leave some love for a chance to win!  You have until Sunday, July 8th, at midnight to leave a comment for a chance to win!
