Vintage Birdcage

This week I have found lots of new challenge blogs online-and I actually have time to play along with them! This card was made using this week's sketch at Cute Card Thursday. As promised, I broke out some of my older papers to make this card. These papers are from Basic Grey's Lilykate collection. I paired them with a cute little birdcage stamp from {ippity} which you can get right HERE.

This is another card that's going right into my stash to have a sentiment added later. This would make a really cute thinking of you or thank you card.

Love Birds

Just a quick share this morning: a Valentine's Day card. I don't even have my Christmas decorations put away yet, but I am already thinking about Valentine's Day. Yesterday, I even saw Cadbury Creme Eggs at the grocery store. As much as I love those eggs, that's jumping the gun a little bit. :)
Today's card uses stamps from the Fall for You set by {ippity} which you can get HERE. The papers actually came from Target's Dollar Spot a couple of years ago! I have so much paper in my scraproom right now-hopefully you will see lots of new projects in the new year using some of my stash. I need to downsize, lol!

Ippity Class

This weekend I held my first class featuring Ippity's "Fall for You" stamp set and papers by My Mind's Eye. The class had a great turn-out...the house was a bit crowded and hot but I think (hope!) everyone had fun. My favorite part was seeing my scrappy friends. We just don't get together enough!

For those of you that would like to order a kit for this class (includes stamp set and all papers/embellishments) the cost is $25. I am currently sold out of this stamp kit, but I will be placing another order next week.

I love this little stamp from DeNami Design-who could resist these cute little chickies and a fun sentiment? Even better, it is all one stamp (image + sentiment) so you don't have to stress about lining everything up. It's also versatile because it could be used for Valentine's Day or just as a little "thank you" to someone.
I am submitting this card to the Cards Blog challenge this week. The challenge was to make a card with "punny" sentiment. I am also hoping to make a card using the cute little sea creatures on my new "Create a Critter" cricut cartridge. (Try saying that one five times fast!) The Imaginisce blog asked readers to come up with some cute sayings to go along with their new line featuring sea creatures and the results were incredible! You crafty girls are so creative! New goodies from Momenta...

I am so excited that my new goodies from Momenta have arrived! I had fun playing this weekend with everything. There are literally stacks of cardstock, paper, stickers, rub-ons, and chipboard everywhere in my scraproom. (No, this is not unusual-but this is NEW stuff, LOL)
I didn't really know where to start. I have to admit, it was a little overwhelming. So I started out small. I opened this adorable 12 x 12 Simply Perfect Page Kit and started playing. So far, I have made three cards with it and I haven't even made a dent in the contents! Still have tons of patterned paper, die cuts and stickers to use.

Happy Easter card

I got an amazing deal on the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday collection and I have been dying to make some cards with the new papers. They are perfect for spring! Here is an easter card that I made, combining the new papers with a little chickie image from Imaginisce. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. The image is paper-pieced, and I fussy-cut some butterflies from the paper to add here and there. My favorite part of this card, however, are the buttons. I raided my stash of buttons and used them behind the chick image. Because only half of the buttons are showing, they look like a 3D scalloped border. It was just the bit of "oomph" that the card needed.

I've been having so much fun with the new Cosmo Cricket lines that we just received at the store. On Monday, I posted an anniversary card that I had made using the Early Bird line. The card I'm sharing this morning is also made from the Early Bird line. I added some felt shapes from American Crafts. The shapes are actually punctuation (*) but I added some hand-stitching and used them as flowers. The little felt tab on the bird tag is just a felt bracket trimmed.

Trying to make a dent...

in my stash of buttons. I have been using buttons on every project lately, it seems. I have been collecting buttons for years, and like all of my crafting supplies, I accumulate them much faster than I use them. It's also great for the scrapping budget, since buttons are pretty inexpensive. Save even more by buying them in bulk in the sewing section instead of those pre-packaged for scrapbooking. My favorites are the color-coordinated multi packs. You can get a bag of 100+ buttons for less than $2.00 at Walmart.

One way to use several on one project is to make a border with them. On this mini card (4" square), my border covers the seam between my two patterned papers. To mix it up a little, I used a couple of different threading "techniques." Nothing hard, just something to add visual interest.

Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts striped paper, Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock, Hero Arts stamps.

I "scraplifted" this card idea from Lucy Abrams in the Hero Arts Flickr group. There are some absolutely beautiful cards there. Anyone can post projects to this group, you just have to use at least one Hero Arts stamp on your project. Go check it out for some great cardmaking and scrapbooking ideas! Birdie Birthday

This is just a card I wanted to share. It's so fun and cheery-love the whimsical paper from Sassafras Lass. I picked up a Wee Bundle of this paper at CKC Manchester and have been having fun with it.

This card is based on two online challenges. First, it is my take on this week's sketch challenge over at Card Patterns. It is also my entry for the SP Color Combos challenge this week. Samantha's challenge was to make a card using Stampin' Up!'s Bermuda Blue, Soft Suede, and Melon Mambo colors. Since these colors just came out, I don't have them yet, but I had these papers and inks in my stash that worked perfectly.

Hello Birdies

I made this card for the background stamping challenge over on the Hero Arts blog this week. I was inspired by THIS card by quilterlin. I used the Designblock Tree stamp over patterned paper by SEI. The little birdies are from the Holiday Birds set (just trim off the ornaments) and the Ink 'n Stamp-Birds and Branches set. I used a daisy punch for the flowers, but they were just too big, so I trimmed off the point of each petal and loved the results. Kind of whimsical, don't you think? I used a scalloped circle punch to create the window in the front of the card, then adhered the negative to the inside of the card. You can see just the inside of my card HERE.
