Happy Memorial Day!

Today's shares use the same stamp set from {ippity}, but are made with very different color schemes for very different occasions.  The first uses primary colors, including a yellow ribbon, for Memorial Day:

The next uses pastels and feminine embellies, along with a pink ribbon, for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I shared these projects over on the I Heart {ippity} blog today, where I am proud to be a new Design Team member!  As of May 1st, I am no longer an {ippity} Chick, but you can still order your favorite {ippity} stamps from my friend, Heather Flaherty, owner of I Heart {ippity}!  Just click on her name on the Unity website to choose her as your {ippity} Chick.  Easy, right? ;)

End of my May Counterfeit Kit

My May Counterfeit Kit has come to an end.  I used nearly every scrap of paper in my kit this month.  I have just a handful of punched butterflies left!  Of course, there are some alpha stickers and other embellies left, too, but my goal is to use as much paper each month as possible.  I have SO much in my stash!  Here are the last projects from my kit...

3 cards...

6 simple tags perfect for quick cards or to tie on gift bags...

a garland for a gift bag or box and coordinating tag...

a pretty tag from teeny, tiny scraps...

and 5 tags to tie on water bottles for my favorite teachers. :)

So that's the end of my kit...I'm kind of sad that it's gone!  I LOVED my kit this month and created so many projects with it.  All together, I made 14 cards, 13 tags, and one mini garland.  Not too shabby!

I have to admit-I caved and subscribed to a card kit club last month.  I now have two kits that are sitting on my desk, unused.  I am going to try to create a few cards over this long weekend to share.  Both of these kits are totally our of my comfort zone, so I am a bit nervous to break into them!  Check back tomorrow for sneaks of my I Heart {ippity} projects!

Birthday Balloons

Just a quick share before I head off to school this morning...some birthday cards that I made from my May Counterfeit Kit.  I wondered how I would use my kraft frames this month-they were perfect for these cards!

Thanks for popping by today!

Hooray for You!

This is my last share for today-a mini card for this month's sketch challenge at The Craft's Meow.  Here is the sketch:

I really loved the circles down the side and the banner sentiment.  I didn't follow the sketc exactly, but it's pretty close. I added more circles dow the side and stitched down the layers.  Then I stamped the bike from Vintage Rides right over my circles.  My banner and sentiment are also from Vintage Rides.  The finishing touch is a tiny epoxy brad from SEI.  All supplies are from my May Counterfeit Kit.

Thanks for checking out my card!  Enjoy your weekend!

More Counterfeit Cards :)

I found a few minutes this afternoon to play in the scraproom-using some more of my May Counterfeit Kit.  I realized that I still needed a few more cards for this weekend!  Tomorrow, of course, is Mother's Day.  We will also be celebrating my Dad's 81st birthday and my parents' wedding anniversary.  Busy, busy day!  Needless to say, I needed a few more cards. :)

This first card is for my Dad's birthday.  Thee stamp are not from this month's kit, but they are the ones that I had planned on using for my Dad's card.  The truck is from Tim Holtz and was a gift from my sweet friend, Lesa.  I thought it went great with the vintage ad woodgrain paper.  I also used a few scraps that were on my table to create a fun, colorful banner in the corner.

This next card is a TOTAL scraplift from Jessica Fick from The Craft's Meow DT.  HERE is her gorgeous card.  I copied the design, the color scheme, EVERYTHING from her!  This is a non-traditional Mother's Day card for my MIL, who loves horses.  The only part that I substituted on this card is the punched woodgrain borders-Jessica used lace, but I had a few woodgrain strips left in my kit and thought they would look great.  I think my MIL is going to really like this card. :)

I have one more card to share today-just have to edit and link up for a challenge.  Stay tuned! :)

Some Counterfeit Cards...

It has been rainy all week here, so Ie have been saving up a few project to share.  I have made four cards this week using my ay Counterfeit Kit.  If you are new to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, you can check it out HERE.  It's so much fun and a great way to make your  supplies "new" again!

This month I cheated a bit, I guess, because I had a ton of new stuff to make my kit with!  Too much scrappy retail therapy during vacation. :)  This first card uses my new banana-seat bike stamp from The Craft's Meow. Th sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  All supplies were from my kit.

This next card is a bit more eclectic than I usually make, but I still love it!  there's that cute bike again, along with a sentiment from that same stamp set.  Only the white twine was not part of my original kit.

This photo isn't the best, but I gave it away on Thursday so I can't snag a better pic.  This is my favorite of all of the bike cards that I made.  Pretty papers and a sweet basket of flowers on the bike-makes me happy.  This bike stamp is from Unity.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  All supplies from my kit.  I am also entering this in the "Anything Goes" Challenge from Basic Grey Challenges.  The floral print is "Daisy Mae" from Basic Grey's new "PB&J" collection.  I love the prints in that 6x6 pad!

Finally, I used a AG on my last card!  I looked at the tags in my kit and wondered how I could use one as the focal point of a card.  When I noticed this little sentiment istamp in my kit, I knew the would go great together.  Also a great way to use up paper scraps at the end of the month!  Again, everything was from my kit.  I was a good girl. :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Mother's Day!

May Counterfeit Kit

This month, the Counterfeit Kit Challenge has chosen to counterfeit kits from one of my very favorite kit companies, Studio Calico.  The name of the kit that we are counterfeiting is called "City of Lights".  Here is the inspiration kit:

I really loved the colors and embellishments in this kit, so I tried to match the elements as closely as I could from items in my stash.  Here is my kit:

For me, embellies are the best part of the kit.  Here is a larger photo of my embellies:
I am super excited to use the new clear stamps on the right from The Craft's Meow.  I have been wanting a banana-seat bicycle stamp, and this one is so cute!  The kraft tags were made using a couple of different Cricut cartridges for the cut-outs, then I trimmed the tag around them.  I am not really a tag girl, but these are really cute, and I can't wait to use them.  I think these are the perfect size for cards.  The best part of creating my own is that I also have the "positive" shapes to use as little embellies!  I don't throw anything away! LOL  I also created my own "wood" frame from a piece of patterned paper.  I used my oval cutter for the center, then traced the outside of a chipboard frame and cut with my tiny scissors.  Not quite sure how I will use this yet. :)  Finally, I added some epoxy brads, mandarin baker's twin for a pop of color, and some washi tape from Target.

I chose to counterfeit the Montmarte Add-On this month, too.  I have to REALLY love an add-on to include it!  Here is the inspiration add-on kit:

And here is a larger photo of my add-on kit:
Check out the woodgrain ruler paper in the lower left-Thompson Furniture Company!  I love it-I am going to have to come up with a special project for that one!  I chose not to include the chipboard alphas, as there are several alpha options in my main kit.  I made my own kraft journaling spots by stamping some of my frame stamps on kraft with white pigment ink.  The stamp in the inpiration kit reminded me a lot of this "Always a Friend" stamp that just came in my Simon Says Stamp card kit, so I had to include it.  The kittle rectangle tags are actually leftover from an Imaginisce card stack-they are almost exactly like the ones in the inspiration kit, they are the perfect colors, and I always forget to use them because they are in the "stack" instead of with my other embellies.  Finally, I substituted some chevron twill and some dotted ribbon for the washi tapes.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and checking out my kit!  I hope to get a lot of mileage from this kit-I love the colors and the embellies.  I just need to find time to scrap this month!  Last month, I made 9 cards from my kit-hope to break that record this month!
