Have a Beauty-Full Birthday

I had a few minutes before heading out to an appointment this morning, and I thought I would play alongwith the April Sketch Challenge on The Craft's Meow blog.  It was a pretty sketch-different from what I usually do, but I knew it would work with my one set of Craft's Meow stamps.  And since I included that set in my April Counterfeit Kit, I had coordinating papers and embellies ready to go.  Love that about my kits!  Here is my card:
I used the Fly Free set from TCM.  Not too shabby for a quick birthday card, huh?  Thank you to my friend Lesa for my new flower frog, too!  I have been wanting one of these to display my cards on-I love it!

A few spring cards...

Here area few spring-y cards that I made this week using my March and April Counterfeit Kits.  The first one, with that adorable little fox, was made with scraps from my March kit.  I used one of the sketches found on the Hero Arts blog, and I am entering it in this month's Hero Arts Challenge.

These next cards were made with my April kit.  The first is based on a sketch from a CARDS magazine call.

This one is one of my all-time favorites, I think!  So simple and a great way to use up scraps.  I made my pennants by punching the ends with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Thanks for popping by today!

Lovin' Hexagons!

One of the April challenges from the MME blog was to use hexagons prominently on a project.  I have been saving just bits and pieces from this older MME collection called "Love Me Do" just because I loved the colors and prints so much.  Punched hexagons were the perfect way to use up these scraps to make a cute card!

I added a stamped sentiment from Hero Arts, a couple of heart die-cuts from the same MME collection, and a bit of stitching to frame my background.  I think it came out quite cute. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and if you come back later I will have a few more cards from my April Counterfeit Kit to share!

Some Mother's Day Cards...

I had the best day today-got to spend it scrapping with my friend, Lesa.  We both play along with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, and we scrapped with our April kits today.  I only finished 2 cards with my kit, but I really like them. :)  All of the papers and stickers are from Basic Grey's "Nook & Pantry" collection, and the stamps were all hand-me-downs from my generous SIL, Patti.  (Thanks, Patti!)  For the "Happy Mother's Day" card, I pulled a few embellishments that weren't part of my kit-the velvet yo-yo, the stick pin and the resin flowers.  That still counts, right? ;)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope to get a few more cards scrapped with my kit during my last few days of vacation.  Hopefully I can share them this weekend!

Birthday Girl

I made this quick card for one of my students, who turned 6 on Easter.  I used my April Kit for the Counterfeit Kit challenge, and it came together so quickly!  I pulled two stamps from my stash, "birthday" from {ippity} and "girl" from Unity.  These worked perfectly together!  I think that I may make up a few of these to keep in my stash-it seems like I never have enough birthday cards!

My "She Art" Card :)

I had to smile when I read my friend Lesa's comment on my Counterfeit Kit for this month-she said I went artsy! :)  Usually my style is WAY on the cutesy side, so this month is totally different for me.  I am having so much fun with it, tough!  I was SO VERY HAPPY with my first "she art" project:
I used a brand new stamp set from {ippity} by Unity Stamp Co. called "Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart".  You can get it HERE-just scroll down until you see my pic, click "Choose", and you will be linked to all of {ippity}s stamp sets.
I pieced her skirt from different papers in my April kit.  The only thing that wasn't part of my original kit was the Studio Calico label sticker.  This was leftover from one of my 2011 Counterfeit Kits-it was perfect for this stamped sentiment.
Thanks for popping by!

The rest of my April Counterfeit Kit :)

Here is the second kit that I counterfeited this month as part of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  There were three inspiration kits this month from Kits de Somni.  Here is their inspiration kit:

So fun and colorful!  I LOVE the She Art girl from Christy Tomlinson!  I created my kit based on some of the colors and patterns in the kit's papers, and I had so much fun creating my own She Art girl with a brand-spankin' new {ippity} set being released this Thursday!  Here is my kit:

My papers are mostly from Basic Grey (with the exception of one Echo Park and some dictionary pages.)  I stamped most of my embellies using {ippity} stamps, and added some punched butterflies and Sassafras flower die cuts.  I also added some pretty handmade flowers and canvas die-cuts that were a Christmas present from Bethany @ the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  This kit is much more "artsy" than the kits that I usually make, but I hope it will make me stretch my creativity.  After all, these supplies were already in my stash-I hope to use them in new ways!

April Counterfeit Kit

Could it be?  Only the 7th of the month and I already have my kit made for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge?  Believe it or not, I actually counterfeited 2 of the 3 kits that Bethany and Meridy have chosen for us this month!  One is complete-I'm still creating a few embellies for the other.  I was so happy with the first kit, though, that I couldn't wait to share.

This month's inspiration kit is from Kits de Somni.  Isn't is lovely?

I really liked the colors in this kit, and I LOVED the colorful flowers.  I also loved that I knew I had exactly what I needed to counterfeit them!  Here is my kit:

As always, I mixed and matched manufacturers like crazy.  That's my favorite part!  My papers are from Basic Grey, Imaginisce, Stampin' Up!, and My Little Shoebox.  Stamps are from Tim Holtz, Imaginisce, The Craft's Meow, Unity, and {ippity}.  I also have some embellies from the CKCB founders, Meridy and Beth. :)

I hope to find a few minutes to finish my other kit later today.  Be sure to check out the inspiration kits and Master Forgers' kits at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog!

One more quick share tonight-using more cute Paper Smooches stamps.  This is my second card for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge:
Super CAS! :)

Thanks for looking!

Hey Chickie!

***Please click HERE for my Lily Pad Cards Blog Hop Post!***

I think I have a new favorite stamp company-Paper Smooches!  My scrappy BFF, Lesa, and I had the opportunity to go to a card class last week taught by Kim Hughes and Karolyn Loncon.  They were both SO sweet in real life!  We made some really cute cards (I will share later), and I bought my first 3 sets of PS stamps.  Here is a card I made for the SPARKS Challenge on the PS blog:

I was inspired to use some of the colors and textures from the inspiration photo (tiny white bunnies stitched from felt.)  I used a mix of papers from Bo Bunny, Imaginisce, and Pebbles, along with a die-cut felt border from Queen & Co.  I made some faux-stitching on the sentiment tag using a Spellbinders Pierceabilities die.

I'm so glad that you came to visit my blog today!  Don't forget to check out THIS post for the Lily Pad Cards blog hop!  Lots of great prizes and cards along the way!

These prizes will be awarded by random draw. To be eligible, you need to “like” us on Facebook HERE. Many of our blogs have some blog candy of their own to give away, too! Start hopping at the Lily Pad Cards blog so that you won't miss any of the fabulous birthday cards or blog candy!

This hop features birthday cards, but I chose to make a 1st birthday card, since it's Lily Pad Cards' 1st birthday. You could easily change this for any birthday by just changing the number, or leaving it off altogether. Get ready for some Paper Smooches cuteness:

Isn't that pup just too cute? He is from Paper Smooches' Chubby Chums. I just got this set and couldn't wait to ink it up! I love to mix and match my stamp sets, so I added a party hat from {ippity}, a number 1 from Unity, and a sentiment from Studio Calico. Spreading the love, lol! Paper is from a mix of companies, too: Cosmo Cricket, DCWV, Heidi Grace, Bo Bunny, and Basic Grey.

Ready for some blog candy? I have some brand-spanking new {ippity} to give away! It's so new that I can't even share a sneak with you yet, but I have it right here on my desk, ready to send to one lucky winner! Unity designer Angie Blom has created our April release sets for us, and I am giving away a set called "Let Your Heart Take Flight." To be entered to win, you must leave me a comment on this post AND be a follower of my blog. All comments for the Lily Pad prize package and my blog candy must be received by midnight (EST) on Sunday, April 8th. Check back on Monday, April 9th to see if you are a winner!
